Ratdog/October 28,1997/Burlington,VT

Ratdog was Bob Weir's (Grateful Dead guitarist) solo band. On this night they performed a mix of Grateful Dead and Weir solo songs. This show was general admission,so I managed to get right to the lip of the stage. It was cool to be only a few feet away from Bob Weir while he sang "Festival".

Although Bob had a good band in Ratdog,the show struck me as underwhelming. I suppose I was discovering how much Jerry Garcia contributed to the Dead songs. With Mr. Garcia gone for a couple years at this point,the songs sounded slightly empty. But I was happy to get to see Bob at the small Memorial Auditorium.
