Jimmy Page-Robert Plant/July 13,1998/Boston,MA

My brother Sam let me and my friend Brian stay at his place in Allston,MA for this show. Brian and I arrived at the Fleet Center with a couple hours to spare before showtime. We had some drinks at a nearby bar. Once we were inside for the show,I hit the beer with a vengeance. The Fleet Center was selling what looked like 30 ounce cups of beer. By far the biggest cups of beer I've seen at any show.

If you read my blog about the 1995 Page/Plant show in Hartford,this story will seem familiar. My drinking made me black out for a large chunk of this show. I recall the band opening with "The Wanton Song". And sadly the rest of the show is a drunken blur to me. That's a shame because apparently they played beautifully.

I can recall leaving the show and meeting up with Brian outside. We may have even stopped for a couple drinks (like I needed it) before heading back to my brother's place. The 4 hour hungover bus ride home the next day left me wondering why I did it again. Yuk.
