Phish/December 13,1997/Albany,NY

Another super-fine evening with one of my favorite bands. I traveled to this show with 3 friends from Burlington. Two of those friends drank beer and smoked dope in the back seat for most of the drive. As a result, they both were tired and headachey by showtime. Too bad, guys. It was a great show.

A passerby at the show sold me something that made me feel excellent. My seat was behind the stage, but I sure didn't care. The quality and intensity of that 1st set was superb. For the 2nd set I managed to sit with my 3 friends down closer to the floor. That set was even better than the first. There was a crazy version of "Ghost" and a long "Mike's Groove" (among much more).  I wish I could describe it better, but it was an *in the moment* experience.

On the drive home I recall talking my friends' ears off about the great keyboard sound at the show. Page McConnell (keyboards) played a lot of clavinet at the show, and I just kept raving about it. What a night.
