Deep Purple/November 22,1996/Quebec City,Quebec

This was my only trip to beautiful Quebec City. My good friend Kiumars accompanied me to this show.

This line-up of Deep Purple was slightly different from the 1991 line-up when I saw them in Burlington,VT. At this show the band was comprised of Jon Lord (keyboards), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums), Ian Gillan (vocals) and Steve Morse (guitar).  I prefer Ritchie Blackmore to Steve Morse,but I didn't want to miss a chance to see Purple again.

The theater was beautiful and had great acoustics. Each musician had his chance to solo during the concert,and my favorite was the keyboard wizardry of the late Jon Lord. Kiumars and I were so pumped after the show that we just wandered aimlessly through Quebec City talking about what we had just seen. Purple's line-up has changed since then,but I will always remember that night.
