Gregg Allman and Friends/October 21,1998/Burlington,VT

For one of the only times in my concert-going life: a front row seat. For the low,low price of $38.27.
And it turned out to be a good show. Once again,my expectations were way too high. I knew that I loved the Allman Brothers Band's intense improvisations. So it seemed logical to expect the same from a Gregg Allman show. Well...not quite.

There was nothing wrong with this concert. BUT,seeing Gregg away from his more popular band made for a less exciting show. He covered Allman Brothers material and some of his solo stuff. Mainly he stayed on keyboards, but he switched to acoustic guitar for a few tunes. From my vantage point I saw him swallow a couple pills toward the end of the show. I still wonder about that.
