Horizons Of Rock Developing Everywhere (H.O.R.D.E) rolled into Camden on this warm Summer day. I happened to be visiting a nearby Pennsylvania city with my then-girlfriend Ruthie at the time. So we met up with some of her friends and headed to the show.
The bands I was most impressed by that day were Blues Traveler and Lenny Kravitz. Rusted Root was fine but not particularly memorable. Our seats were way back in the lawn area, but the video screens helped us out with keeping up with the onstage action.
The scene in the parking lot after the show was insane. There was a lot of drinking and TONS of nitrous oxide being sold. One severely chemically altered fellow fell over at an odd angle and busted Ruthie's rear car light with his HEAD. He ended up being OK,but the light had to be replaced. Years after this show,I learned that Camden has a reputation for crazy post-concert parties.
Above my ticket stub is a clip of John Popper and Blues Traveler from the 1996 H.O.R.D.E. tour.
