Pink Floyd/May 22,1994/Montreal,Quebec

Wow! Pink Floyd in Montreal. Must've been the thrill of a lifetime, right? Well....sort of. To be clear,Pink Floyd played beautifully as I recall. This was not their fault. This was what turned out to be their final tour in support of their then- current album "The Division Bell".

This was another trip on the WIZN Wizard Bus from Burlington to Montreal. Floyd played 2 sets on this night. The first set contained mainly new material from "The Division Bell" with a few oldies thrown in there. Sound quality was pretty good for an old baseball stadium. And the light show was in a class of its own. Top-notch.

I drank moderately for the first set. Then I consumed mass quantities of beer during the set break. So the second set is a bit of a blur. Bits of "Dark Side of the Moon" were played among others. Again...great playing and visuals on the band's part. Then I blacked out for a bit and ended up in an unfamiliar section of the stadium watching the show with a Canadian guy drinking whiskey from his flask. Lost some time there. I sobered up enough to recall the final song "Run Like Hell" and the intense heat coming from the stage when the flashpots exploded.

So...this was fun. It was my only experience seeing the mighty Floyd in person. It was a thrill to be there, but I wish I had partied far more responsibly. More on this later.

Under my ticket stub is a clip of Floyd in Montreal from the day after my show.
