On the 31st I rode down to Boston with 2 friends from Burlington. They dropped me off at my brother's house before heading to their place. Not surprisingly, there were tons of people milling around the outside of the Boston Garden that night. Some were there in the hopes of finding last-minute tickets, and some were there for the party.
I made it to my seat behind the stage and settled in for 3 sets of music. For some reason, not a lot of the concert sticks in my mind. What DOES stick out in my mind is Phish's big prank. At the start of the 2nd or 3rd set,the band flew over the Garden in a giant hot dog while playing "Auld Lang Syne" and tossing ping-pong balls to the crowd. The *hot dog prank* is a theme the band would revisit for years to come at New Year's shows, but this was the start of it all. And I was lucky enough to be there.
Here is a link to that night's setlist. http://phish.net/setlists/?d=1994-12-31
Below my ticket stub is a quick clip of the hot dog prank that night.
